Structuring Your Week When Nobody Sets Your Hours

The hardest part of building something in retirement is rarely the skill. It is the absence of the external structure that a job quietly provided.

Choose two or three fixed sessions a week and protect them the way you would an appointment.

Keep sessions short enough that you look forward to the next one. Ninety minutes is plenty.

Track what you finished, not how long you sat down for. Progress you can see is what sustains motivation.

Allow for seasons. Grandchildren, travel and health all take precedence, and a project built on realistic hours survives them.
